First Blog

Hi, I am Mason, and for my first blog post I will be talking about Ranger’s Apprentice

Ranger’s Apprentice is one of the first books that I enjoyed reading, and it was nice to finally finish the series. Ranger’s Apprentice has such an amazing plot, with characters that were so lifelike the only thing that gave it away was the setting. Ranger’s Apprentice is about a boy who lives in a castle and his dream is to become a knight. This however is nearly impossible because of his small size. Instead he gets chosen to be a ranger, a mysterious group of people that are also part of the castles military.
The book shows the secret life of being a ranger, and when there is an attack at the castle, it is up to the boy to save the castle. The characters are so lifelike that you can see them, and the author makes the actions so descriptive that while reading, you can act them out. The book shows the boy adapting into a new lifestyle. The dialogue makes the book flow like water, every chapter isn’t stale and boring.
This book has been influential to me because of how the author wrote. This book was a way for my parents to make me sit still and be quiet. I read the book for hours on end and enjoyed every part of it.

  1. Ranger’s Apprentice sounds like a fun book! I liked your descriptions of the book: how the actions are so detailed that you could act them out, and how the dialogue makes the book “flow like water.” It makes the book sound even more engaging. Also, it seems a bit ironic, and sad, that a kid that has the privilege of growing up in a castle can’t even be a knight just because he's small.

  2. I have heard a lot about Ranger's Apprentice from other people and your other English assignments. I sometimes feel like I'm too old for fantasy books but this one may change my mind. I heard there are a lot of books though, so it might take a while!
